Lochie is still a hero
It has been three years since
Lachlan Nally showed great bravery
in saving his father’s life in South
Lachlan was a patient with the
Craniofacial Unit who was born with
a disorder common to 1 in 600
babies – a cleft lip and palate. Early
treatment at the Unit has enabled
him to grow into the vibrant young
man he is today.
It was also an instant response by
Lachlan when he and his father
Matthew were involved in this horrific
accident late at night.
When Lachlan felt his dad’s chest,
there was no movement, so he
started mouth-to-mouth treatment
before running 3km barefoot for
help which made him a local hero.
At that time, Lochie’s mother Kim
described her son as fearless in that
he would help anyone in need.
Today, well into his teenage
years, Lachlan continues to be
a responsible young man who is
prepared to meet any demand that
the world has to offer.
