Legacy ... always there, always!
For 90 years Legacy has been
providing practical assistance and
advice to families of deceased
While WWI and WWII are now a
long time ago Legacy nationally still
supports currently some 90,000
families the majority being elderly
widows. Importantly in this mix are an
increasing number of younger families
now cared for by Legacy following a
veterans death and who had service
in conflicts like Vietnam, East Timor,
Gulf War, Iraqi and Afghanistan, etc.
In South Australia and Broken Hill
assistance is provided to 8,500
families including 100 children and
adult disabled dependents.
With limited help from government,
Legacy very much appreciates the
generosity of the public.
If you would like to help the work
of Legacy, with a donation or
leaving a lasting legacy in the
form of a bequest or by becoming
a volunteer, please contact Geoff
Banks on 8231 9812.

A bequest doesn't cost anything now
but will help for generations to come
Making a Will is an important part
of a person's life and once done
it brings peace of mind. Although
writing a Will may not be difficult,
confusion often surrounds executors
Many people choose to remember
charities that were important to
them in life by leaving a gift. For
some, a bequest may be the only
time they are able to make a
significant gift that will help change
The St Vincent de Paul Society
(Vinnies) has put an information
pack together to help answer some
of your questions surrounding Wills,
executors, probate and how to
include a bequest to Vinnies.
One of the oldest and of largest
charities in the world, Vinnies has
been assisting South Australians
through difficult circumstances since
1884. Today over 2,500 members
and volunteers work tirelessly to
support the vulnerable within our
community. As a volunteer based
organisation, the dedicated members
carry out the core work of home
visits and assist almost 100,000
South Australians each year.
This help is not limited to providing
material goods, food and shelter
but extends to providing relief from
loneliness and encouragement for
people to help themselves.
If you wish to discuss your
intentions to remember Vinnies
(SA) in your Will, or would like to
obtain details on how to prepare
your Will, please contact them
on 8112 8714 or email
